Rainy Days: The Perfect Excuse to Stay In

A rainy weekend might feel like bad news if you had outdoor plans—but for me, it’s the perfect excuse to slow down and enjoy some well-deserved time at home. With the gentle patter of rain on the windows, everything feels softer, quieter, and somehow more intimate.

So when it rains, here’s how I like to make the most of it from the comfort of home.

My Go-To Rainy Day Favorites at Home

Doing a bit of yoga
Stretching slowly on a yoga mat while listening to rain sounds is surprisingly peaceful. It’s a simple way to center myself and start the day with clarity.

Tidying up the space
Rainy days are great for catching up on little things—like organizing shelves or wiping the kitchen counters. I find that a tidy space always lifts my mood.

Sitting by the window with a book
There’s something nostalgic about curling up next to the window, sipping tea, and getting lost in a novel as the rain falls outside. It’s one of my favorite feelings in the world.

Baking something warm
Whether it’s cookies or a simple soup, the smell of something cooking while it rains outside always makes the house feel extra cozy.

Rewatching an old favorite movie
Some movies just hit differently when it’s raining. I always end up reaching for a classic romantic film when the skies are grey.

My Favorite Thing to Do: Watching Romantic Movies with Voplls Projector on a Rainy Day

Out of all these cozy activities, the one I always look forward to the most is this:
turning on the projector and watching a romantic movie while the rain taps gently outside.

I use my VOPLLS projector, which creates a big, soft picture that makes me feel like I’m in my own little movie theater. No loud crowds, no interruptions—just me, the story, and the rain.

Some of my favorite rainy day films? Before Sunrise, Titanic, and of course, The Notebook.
That scene where Noah and Allie argue in the rain, and he says, “It still isn’t over”—gets me every time. Watching that while it's actually raining outside feels surreal in the best way.

So if you’re like me and rainy days bring out your soft, romantic side—
why not make it special with a warm drink, a fluffy blanket, and a movie that makes you feel something?
With a projector like VOPLLS, rainy days don’t just pass by—they become something to look forward to.
